Come   join   us   as   we   share the           highlights           and adventures    of    an    “Around the     World”     cruise.          Our fantastic     trip     began     and ended   right   here   in   Florida, giving     us     an     expanded view   of   the   world   and   how early          explorers          and plantation   owners   migrated to       our       shores.       Early exploration     from     Europe set      the      stage      for      our growth    in    North    America and    Caribbean    neighbors.      Plantations                     were established   throughout   the Americas     and     Caribbean Islands.

            Come   join   us   as   we   share   the highlights     and     adventures     of     a journey   through   the   early   towns   of Volusia   County   along   the   St.   John’s River.   Volusia   County   has   a   unique history    in    the    mid    and    late    1800’s before          the “Iron    Horses” began      criss- crossing      the state.             Steamboats were           king along    the    St.    Johns    River    before trains   became   the   accepted   method of   transportation.   We   have   captured the   essence   of   this   growth   transition as   we   wander   uo   the   St.   Johns   River with you.

            Come   join   us   as   we   share   the   highlights   and   adventures   of East   Volusia   and   it’s   historic   places.      Our   2nd   book   “Ormond Beach     Historic     Places”     provides     the     catalyst     for     this presentation   and   has   been   expanded   to   include   all   historical sites along the Volusia County East Coast.                This   presentation   provides   insight   into   the   many   historical sites   including   Ormond   Beach,   Holy   Hill,   Daytona   Beach,   Port Orange   and   Ponce   Inlet.   From   early   plantations   to   reclaimed historic   sites,   this   talk   brings   to   life   events   and   environmental challenges   our   early   pioneers   dealt   with   and   the   results   we enjoy    visiting    today    reminding    us    of    early    struggles    and accomplishments.

Relive our history through film and Power Point presentation...             Join   us   as   we   view   and   discuss   early   20th   century   photos   of   many   plantations   and   contrast   them   against restoration   accomplishments   of   today.      Hear   about   how   early   settlers   discovered   and   rediscovered   our   early history   involving   Florida   land   ownership   and   changing   of   the   guard   as   Spain   and   Britain   occupied   these   lands.     Learn    about    the    effect    of    the    Seminole    wars    which    devastated    these    early    plantations    and    ended    the plantation   era.   Over   a   century   later   after   the   Civil   War   ended,   early   settlers   in   Florida   rediscovered   100’s   of plantations   along   the   St.   Johns   River   and   Florida   East   Coast   and   began   the   restoration   process   as   communities grew   and   prospered.   Let   us   captivate   you   with   plantation   stories   that   tell   this   fascination   story   of   early Florida.
